S. Renee Smith is a Self-Esteem & Branding Expert, Coach, Speaker and Author. I was tasked with the re-design of srenee.com. On this project I used the latest web technologies to such as HTML5, CSS3, and jQuery. I used CSS media queries and breakpoints to make this site responsive. I also utilized the YouTube API to develop a custom video player to display media coverage.

Overall this site was a success with increased average time spent on the site, low bounce rates, and steady conversions.

2015 Toyota Line-up (Directory)

Angular JS, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3

This single page app was developed using AngularJS. Toyota Car Directory is a concept project I decided to design and develop to take advantage of the Angular framework. I created a JSON file with data to simulate information from a database. To handle the application logic, I created a factory with a few methods to get the data from the JSON file, and to get the current car information based on what was selected from the search results.

I used the controllers for this app to update the view whenever a new car is searched or if the navigation is clicked.

HTML, CSS3, JavaScript, PHP, WordPress

Nina Gleyzer, a couture dress designer, needed a simple and clean website to sell her custom made dresses. Her previous website was outdated and couldn’t provide the CMS features that were necessary. So, in 2014 I redesigned Nina Couture and created a site that was easy for Mrs. Gleyzer to update.

Using PHP, I built a custom CMS so that the client can revise the catalog page; Nina is now able to upload new images and descriptions for each new product. I also implemented the colorbox.js plugin for a lightbox effect to display those products and descriptions. Lastly, the blog page was built using WordPress for easy maintenance.

Havertys Furniture

Web Design & Development, Email Marketing

I worked at Havertys Furniture as a web designer/developer. I manage and perform updates related to sale campaigns on Havertys.com. I also design graphics, email marketing assets and landing pages. The materials that I design include static, animated and responsive content. When developing landing pages I use HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JQuery.

On a daily basis, I work closely with the creative director to develop and strategize e-commerce campaigns for key promotional periods and specific customer segments. By incorporating interactive features to the landing pages, I’ve increased click-through-rates and sales.

Photo Filter

HTML, CSS3, jQuery, JavaScript

The Photo Filter project displays a responsive photo gallery with the option to filter images. When a filter option is clicked, a smooth animation reorders these images. I completed this project using HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, and JavaScript.

Using HTML5 data attributes, I attached specific keywords to each image. Then, I used Javascript and jQuery to filter based on those keywords. The script also has viewport breakpoints so the image thumbnails will rearrange to fit the screen or window size. To view the larger images, the fancybox plugin was used for a nice, clean look.

Natalya Bythewood is a fashion journalist, TV host and milliner. She wanted her website redesigned to be more user friendly, easily maintained and with the capability to upload product images and descriptions.

Using PHP, I built a custom CMS so that the client can update the catalog page by uploading new images and descriptions for each new product. On the catalog page, I’ve added the option to create new categories. I also implemented the colorbox.js plugin for a lightbox effect to display the products and descriptions.
